As legend has it, it was on 14 February, in the year 270 ad, that St. Valentine, a priest who had defied the decree by the Roman Emperor Claudius II by canceling all contracts and marriages, was put to death. It was while St. Valentine waited for the soldiers to come and take him to his death, he wrote a note to a girl, the daughter of a prison guard who had visited and befriended him, which he signed, ' love from your Valentine '. It is believed that the habit of Valentine's day, in which love messages are exchanged between couples, began since that note was written.

Well, with Valentine's day approaching, it's time to think of the romantic gift you want to give that special person in your life to start. Of course there are the usual Valentine's day gift ideas such as jewelry, flowers and sweets, which are fine and attentive enough, but why not a little different this year? Here are a few Valentine ideas to help you along:
Of course, a night eating out is a fairly common ritual. So why not add a personal touch to an old Valentine idea of organizing a picnic on a romantic place, just for the two of you?
Or, if the two of you are the outdoor type, can a camping trip are a great way to spend this romantic day together. Make it an overnight trip, so you can sit down stargazing together. If camping is not your thing, how about a trip to the beach? With the weather still cool, it can create numerous romantic opportunities.

Focus on the interests of your Valentine's day. Go to a play, or a romantic movie or take her dancing. Go to an exotic location that your date always wanted to visit. In short, find an environment where the two of you can just enjoy each other.
Be Grand and uniquely different, by all means. Propose to your loved one under the sea, in diving gear, or do it in the air by chartering a plane. Or give him/her a handwritten poem or love note on a piece of the old papyrus, or get cut on a piece of granite.
